Sunny Vibes Shine Through the Goat's Skull

Killington in Vermont is definitely one of my favorite places to ride, I just love it there. The bike park is amazing and the people and vibe are always fantastic.

Killington was the venue for the fifth stop of the 2019 Eastern States Cup and the race course was down one of my favorite trails, Goat’s Skull, a double black with wooden drops, rocky sections, rooty sections, and even some loam! When I visit Killington for fun, I would run laps on Goat’s Skull, so this was a real treat to race it.

Weather was perfect all weekend long and it was great to see everyone again and ride with friends. Mixed with figuring out lines down the race course, we would run party laps down the fantastic flow trails, Sideshow Bob, Blue Magic, and Black Magic.

Apparently there were over 500 racers registered for the weekend of racing, across all categories and including enduro, the most ever. In my U12 class, a record 22 kids were participating. I thought this was awesome, so good to see the sport growing, Killington does a great job of catering to new riders.

By race time I had my lines figured out and was ready to go. My race run was fast and clean and good for 5th place, just behind a couple of older kids. I was stoked! Such a great weekend and I can’t wait to come back.

I want to send healing vibes to my buddy Travis that took a hard slam during party laps after the race. Heal up quick and I’ll see you at Mountain Creek.
