New Video: Mountain Creek Trail Sampler

I’m excited to announce my latest Trail Sampler video, following the ones on Sprain Ridge Park and Graham Hills. This time I visit my local downhill spot Mountain Creek Bike Park.

As with the other Trail Sampler videos, the aim is to give a general overview of the riding, rather than hit every trial, or a shredit of just sending the gnarly stuff, that’s a different video! At Mountain Creek, I wanted show a bunch of different trails, hitting all levels of difficulty. I also wanted to do complete top to bottom runs to give the viewer, and potential rider, a sense of continuity. The five segments featured can all be ridden as shot, from the top of the mountain to the bottom.

The video was shot over two weekends in a desperate bid to beat the foliage that had already begin turning color and falling off the trees. It’s shot almost exclusively on a DJI Osmo Pocket which has proved to be an excellent tool for these videos. It’s also become very apparent that cloudy days are critical to getting good footage shooting trails amongst the trees. When it’s cloudy there is even lighting and not the speckled patterns of shadow and brightness that appear on days of full sun. We re-shot several runs on the second day due to better conditions and are stoked on the result.

I hope you enjoy the video and look forward to seeing you at the Creek.
