New Video: Blue Mountain Reservation Trail Sampler

For our fourth Trail Sampler video of the year, we return to Westchester County and head to Blue Mountain Reservation. This is a large, beautiful park where you can easily get lost…and that’s not bad thing! You can’t get “I need to be rescued” lost (just follow the sounds of the nearby gun range), but you can get “I have no idea where I am or where the parking lot is” lost. What I’m trying to say is there is a lot of land at Blue Mountain.

In this video I ride a 5.5 mile circuit that gives a good overview of the riding. The trails are cross-country orientated with lots of up and downs within short distances. Rock gardens and baby heads abound and add to the challenges. As a downhiller, the best part of a Blue for me are the steep slabs and rollers. They are found throughout the forest and are tons of fun.

The circuit I ride in the video has only around 500ft of climbing, according to my phone GPS. That’s pretty good because I’m sure you could easily double that, if so inclined, over the same distance via different trails.

I hope you enjoy. We shot the video in 4K so it looks really nice, and we used the DJI Osmo Pocket for all shots. See you on the trails.
